I wanted to get some updated pictures of the two of us. Usually it is either one of us who is behind the camera and rarely both of us in front.......or I haven't showered for the day. Whatever the reasons may be(and they are plenty)we needed to take some current ones. Rieley was our photographer, which just fed her already building ego, and she did good...until Todd decided to have a picture of him holding me and all you can see is a very large looking rump. I swear it is the angle, I totally have a teenie, tiny, itty, bitty rear-end. To top it off Leyton told me on sunday that I looked like I have a baby(in my tummy) and then that I have a big bum. "Ummmmmmmmm, ha ha, silly little girl, don't you have somewhere else to be?"

Cool as ice!!

I really love the silliness and innocence of kids. Too soon they will want to be grown up so I am savoring all of these silly moments when they are total dorks. Yay for the dorks!!

Playing in the snow.

These are the pictures of our hard working shovelers. I shoveled too, but who else will take the pictures if not me?! There was about 5-6 inches of snow when all was said and done. The sky was a little dreary, but if you were bundled up...and pushing a shovel, it was nice snow playing weather. We had a blast outside and probably stayed out there for 2-3 hours. I even brought Devyn out after her nap. She needed to try out her new snow suit. She was plenty warm and couln't move a muscle. One of the pictures has our white house in the background. All of them were taken in other yards.

These are just some "whatever" pictures. For one, I am hardly on here so I needed to be represented. Second, I have been really kicking it into gear with working out and I needed to see my progress and have something to measure future progress. So, you all get to see it too. Just because. No real reason.

Devyn's got back!!

Devyn has such a cute bum with some serious saddle bags. Sorry for the naked picture, but isn't it...I mean she so cute!?

Rieley's first report

Rieley has a report due on tuesday about Mount Rushmore. Seeing as she is only in first grade, the requirements are not too difficult. Part of the assignment was to have a visual aid whether it be printed or sculpted or drawn. I suggested to Rieley to draw it because she seems to have some natural talent in drawing. This is the picture that I found after only 5 minutes. I am way impressed! She even has the shading of George Washington's eyes. Then Todd said, without her hearing,"and she even drew Theodore Roosevelt blind".

I guess the ground hog saw his shadow.

Last week we were getting in to some really awesome weather. There were a few days in there that the temperatures were in the mid 50's. It felt like spring. I knew that the weather was going to get a little colder again and that we would get some more snow on thursday. True to form we did. It even came wednesday night. Luckily it wasn't too much and it even had melted off quite a bit by the afternoon. "Not a big deal"! Much to my surprise when I woke up this fine sunday morning, it was a bit of a blizzard. I had been awake only an hour earlier(because of Devyn) and it wasn't snowing then. Now it was.....and hard and fast. The ground was totally covered. I was so glad that we didn't have to go anywhere. Once it stopped snowing we kicked into "Dewey service" gear and got to work on the neighbors driveways. It is really cool because not only do the girls have fun and get to learn the importance of service.......but there are always other neighbors outside doing the other driveways. We have a lot of good people living around us!

A bug

There have been a few different kind of bugs going around the past month or so. A few variations of the flu being one, a few variations of a cold or sinus infection being two and then the dreaded teething being three. Now scholars say that the later is not contagious, but I beg to differ. Everytime we come home from church one of us has an ailment that wasn't there previously. At any rate, These things have made their rounds and have ended with Devyn. At first I thought it was only the teething because some how it has all the same symptoms as a cold(runny nose, fever). After a couple days of coughing I gave in to the belief that she may actually have a cold too. She did and still does although it is on its way out. Poor Devyn was miserable. This is a picture of her with Todd exhausted after crying and not being able to get comfortable. Finally she fell asleep. She even has her mouth open to breath.

Wasn't I just talking about this???

A couple of blogs ago...or down, if you will, I was telling about Morgan and her unique sense of style. Not one day later Morgan illustrated the very things that I had talked about. The first afternoon she surprised me with her hair. Georgeous, I must say! Then the very next day while getting ready for tumbling, she ascended the stairs and this is the outfit she picked. Everyone knows that you can't tumble as well if you are not wearing cut off octopus socks! Clearly, we have a future fashion designer.

Wishing for summer.

I was browsing through all of our pictures and I just love to see the ones of summertime. Every time I am surprised at how green and pretty it is here. I really love it! I know that I grew up here, but those years away...especially the ones in AZ really helped me to appreciate how beautiful Utah is. Yes, in the summer, but during all of the seasons in their own way.

Nothing like a sunday nap!

I even had myself a nap.....which was HEAVENLY! We are usually trying to keep Leyton from falling asleep during the day because bed time gets a little difficult, but the other girls don't usually fall asleep. When I stepped into the office to do some "work" on the computer I saw Rieley there asleep. While I was "working" Leyton came upstairs fresh from her nap and laid back down next to Rieley. I didn't expect her to fall asleep, but I was wrong. Sometimes it just feels so good to sleep so I let them sleep.

Bed and Breakfast

I never tire of the sweet surprises that I come across almost daily. Random things that are left around my house that make me appreciate the simple things in a child life. After a busy morning of getting the girls ready and sent off to school, I came home and prepared for my workout(because I was on the ball this particular morning). Just off to the side of my workout spot I found a friendly bear taking his morning nap. My first thought is, "Come on, I am so tired of these toys being left all over!!!!" Then I thought, "It sure is pretty cute, though. Maybe I'll take a picture and put it on the blog. Then I'll leave it there and be sure to make Leyton put her own toys away so that she can learn that I won't be her maid"! So there you have it.

Morgan the stylist.

There is no doubt that I have a house full of little mommies! They are so helpful and eager to take care of all of Devyn's needs. Luckily for Devyn she doesn't have too much hair to mess up. Un-luckily (not really a word, I know) for Morgan, she does. It isn't often that I let the girls do their own hair. In fact, almost never. But I do get the whole, "let them learn and grow" crap.j/k. Anyway, on occasion I have let Morgan and Rieley style their own hair. Rieley does pretty well. Morgan has a style of her own. As much as I want to cut the tangled hair tie out, comb through the snarls and smooth out the bumps...I remember that they need these experiences to LEARN AND GROW.

Ready to shop!

It must be a girl thing. There is a certain mysterious magnetism that draws women...or small female children toward particularly girly things. Especially if it is a purse, is pink and has a gold be-jeweled medallion on the front. Who could wish for anything more?! There is no shortage of estrogen in this household and certainly no lack of be-jeweled items. Devyn obviously has no problem feeding that inner desire and making it stronger. I can't wait until I have to outfit not only one teenage girl....but four!
