Happy Birthday Todd!

Todd turned 34 on the 15th. The girls and I had a fun day getting ready for Todd to come home from work. We made cupcakes and the girls drew pictures that were hung all throughout the house for the birthday boy.

Morgan and Rieley each wanted a turn taking a picture so that is why Morgan is in the first picture and Rieley in the second. This was also just before our dinner date. We had two neighbor girls come over to babysit because our friends also dropped off their three kids. Leyton was already asleep that is why she isn't in any of the pictures.

Aren't we Hot?! Date night is a good thing!

Kids make all of the little things so much more exciting. When you get older holidays and birthdays just aren't the same. Then you have kids and even pooping in the toilet is worthy of jumping up and down sqeeling. Needless to say we had a great time having cupcakes and blowing out candles. Then Daddy got to wrestle with the girls...which is a requirement from Rieley everyday.

A day at the beach.

A few days after Christmas we decided that we needed to hit the beach. It was not a cold day, but not a warm one either. It was sunny but windy and the wind made me cold. I was smart enough to bring extra clothes for the girls because it was not unlikely that they would get their feet wet which would undoubtedly splash on their pants. It turns out that I was right......I was not right about how wet they would get. The water was in the 50's and freezing. Somehow they got entirely in the water and would even lay on the sand until the waves washed over them. I am freezing just thinking about it. So it was good that I brought the extra clothes.....I only wish I had thought to bring extra panties. Needless to say they were all wearing tiny diapers on the drive home.

The seagulls could see the bag of bread before I even opened it.

So cute!!

Christmas 2008

We had a really wonderful Christmas! We couldn't have hoped for a better one. About a month and a half ago we decided that we ought to go to Texas for Christmas because it had been a long time since the Dewey grandparents had seen the girls. Toddler years are like dog years, one year is the equivalent of 7, because they change so much in such a short amount of time. So we decided that we'd skip our first snowy Christmas and head south. It was so much fun and the girls got spoiled with attention...and gifts.

During this trip we also saw my brother in San Antonio. The only bad thing about that was that we couldn't visit longer. Then we decided to surprise Todd's sister Brittany in AZ. and we visited with our dear friends, the Wells. There is never enough time in a vacation. Sorry for those who we didn't see. It really was a very long trip with limited time, space and patience. Finally we made it home early this morning. It was butt cold(I really don't think "butt" applies because that was probably the warmest part of my freezing body.) but, it was butt cold. Our house was a freezer because we had left the thermostat at 50. Our bedroom was a frosty 45 degrees. We bundled the girls in blankets as we got through the door and then ran around the house with the shivers trying to get everyone back in bed. I was still cold when I woke up...the house had still not heated up all the way. Part of that would be because Todd thinks that the temp should not surpass 70. Anything higher than that would be unbearable and too expensive. Okay, I'm exaggerating Todd's verbatim, but not the temperature. I always swore that after college, when I no longer had to share an apt. with other people, that my house would always be warm.....no matter what. Apparently my word has no worth.

Oh, did you see how Santa left his snowy(baking soda-y) footprints on the rug. He really should learn how to wipe his feet.

The record Buck!

Okay, so it may not be a record per say....but it sure was fun for Todd. He got to go hunting on our holiday vacation to Texas. An armadillo would have sufficed much less a huge 4 point buck. NO, I don't think armadillos are a hunted breed. Although, we are talking about Texans.

Blood and guts...who wouldn't be thrilled?! Rieley and Morgan thought it was pretty funny that his tongue was hanging out. That's how everyone looks when they die, eyes x'd out and tongues out to the side.

Seriously, gross!!!
