I'm ready for it to be summer but there have been plenty of fun days playing in the snow. Todd likes to take the girls sledding when he gets the chance. I'm not the biggest fan because I am pregnant and I'm also paranoid. All I do is worry about them getting hurt. So this time I went to do our shopping at Walmart while the rest of the family went sledding. It worked out best for everyone. Too bad I started to feel light headed halfway through my shopping and had to ditch my cart full of groceries and hustle to the truck before I possibly passed out. I made it, but can you imagine passing out at Walmart?! How humiliating! Plus, they would definitely call an ambulance. I did not want any of that. It was just one of those days and I felt stupid that I couldn't even finish my shopping......so Rieley went with me later just in case. Like she'd be a big help, but I was feeling better. Back to the snow..it was a great and cold time!
Happy 35th, Honey!!
For Todd's birthday this year we decided to have dinner at home with a few friends. The girls got to go over to their favorite babysitters house and play fashion show while we hung out with the adults. For dinner the only appropriate dish to choose for a Texan would be.......brisket. I almost feel like I should capitalize the letter "b" because it is so highly esteemed. Anyway,we have figured out a way to "smoke" it without a smoker and it turns out pretty dang good. I'm not really a fan of brisket, but when Todd made some that was pulled a long with the regular slices, I actually enjoyed it. So, we made Brisket with potato salad, pork and beans, pickles, onions and yummy dessert. It was a meal fit for a King(or a Texan). We had a great time visiting and eating. Sometimes life isn't about the material things, but about the time spent with friends.
We have a variety of pictures here rounding out our trip to AZ. Todd and Ken's successful dove hunting trip. Our fun lunch with the Dawson, Hedelius', Stauffers and some extra friends. Rieley and her new non-prescription glasses that she just had to have and finally a trip to McDonalds on the drive home. Morgan and Rieley are drinking from straws at the same time and Leyton is watching because she thinks it is silly that they look like they are kissing. What is it with girls and kissing??? It was a great trip to AZ and even the drive went by quickly. I am done traveling for awhile, but I'm glad that we decided to make the trip.

Happy 3rd!!
Leyton turned three on New Years Eve. We decided to go to Arizona to visit our family and friends so we got to spend her b-day with Aunt Brittany, Uncle Doug and cousin Boston. It was so much fun and well worth the 12 hour drive. Leytons big present was getting her ears pierced. Her sisters both had theirs pierced whenthey were 3 months old. We just hadn't gotten around to getting Leytons. She did pretty good on the first ear, but when it was time for the second we had to put Todd's vice grip arms on her. She didn't want any of that. When it was over, it was no big deal. They look so cute. Luckily she's old enough that she doesn't play with them...too bad that they get caught in her blanket and stuffed animals. Ouch! All in all it was a good birthday and a good New Years eve. We are a little boring so just hanging out with the family was perfect for us. Especially with kids, it isn't as fun staying up until midnight when they start getting grumpy.
Hardware Ranch ELK
Up the canyon near Logan there is a place called Harware Ranch. This is a place that the State set up a long time ago to feed the Elk. The reason they try to feed the elk is so that hopefully it will keep them from heading further down the mountain and getting in to the farmers crops. Also many were being hit by cars. Because there is such a large amount of elk at any given time during the winter season, the public has been allowed to come and see them. There are a few large horse drawn wagons at the ranch to get us up close and personal.
